Baron Jonsson

Vet Director and Principal Surgeon

Dr Baron completed his veterinary degree at the University of Queensland in 1997.  He entered into mixed practice in central north NSW for 2 years, before furthering his career in Scotland and England, where he met and married Karen.

Baron and Karen moved back to Australia in 2006 and worked in a busy small animal practice on the Gold Coast for 7 years, until relocating to Baron’s hometown of Brisbane.  They purchased Kedron Veterinary Clinic in 2013, and hope to follow on its tradition of providing excellent client service.

Baron’s veterinary interests include all areas of small animal medicine and surgery with special interests in dentistry and geriatric pet health.  Outside of clinical practice, Baron places his focus on supporting community events, overseeing client relations and continuing education.  Baron has recently become certified in Penn Hip Scoring which allows further study of hip dysplasia. Outside of work, Baron enjoys surfing, skiing, walking and spending time with his family and friends. 


Dr Christine

Senior Veterinary surgeon

Dr Christine completed her Veterinary degree at the University of Queensland in 2009. She has been working at Kedron Vet since 2017, having previously worked locally since graduation. Christine has a keen interest in soft tissue surgery, dentistry and internal medicine, and loves doing hands-on continuing education workshops to update her skills.

Prior to studying vet science, Christine obtained a degree in Ecology and worked in the field of environmental management. She has also enjoyed traveling and working in ski fields in Europe in a past life, but as a mum to two children and several pets, she now spends her limited spare time mountain biking and learning to play new musical instruments.


Karen Jonsson

Practice Manager

Karen started her career in the veterinary industry in 1998, working as a receptionist for a small animal practice in her home town of Bexhill, a small town on the south coast of England.  It was here that she developed her interest in veterinary nursing and went on to become a qualified veterinary nurse in 2002.

She met Baron during her time at the Bexhill clinic, and they married in 2004.  Karen brings over 19 years of experience in the veterinary industry to her role as Practice Manager of  Kedron Veterinary clinic.  Karen’s interests within nursing include surgical nursing and problem solving.  Karen places her focus on establishing high standards of in-clinic procedures and polices, staff management, overseeing client relations and managing administrative elements of the clinic. Outside of work Karen enjoys swimming and traveling, but most of all loves spending her time with her family, friends and family pets, Beau and Bernie the Labradoodles, cats Dotty and Millie the domestic shorthairs. 



Head Veterinary Nurse

Pippa joined our team in January 2015 as a volunteer, gaining a range of practical skills for the completion of her certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. As a valuable member of the team, Pippa was made one of our Veterinary Nurses in November 2015.

Pippa’s special interests within nursing include pathology, wildlife rehabilitation, and surgical nursing (particularly for orthopaedic surgery).  Pippa is very focused on establishing high standards of patient care, training staff and general scheduling of the day.

Pippa intends to continue her study by completing a certificate III in Captive Animals.

Outside of work, Pippa enjoys walking her dog Dela the Staffy x Whippet, and spending time with her husband, family and friends. 



Senior Veterinary Nurse

Tori joined our team in October 2018 as a qualified Veterinary nurse, graduating from her certificate 4 in Veterinary nursing June 2018.

Tori’s special interests within nursing include behaviour, surgical nursing, wildlife and exotics. 

Tori is very focused on establishing high standards of patient care and strong client relationships.

Outside of work, Tori enjoys baking, travelling, watching movies and relaxing at home with family and her pets. Tori owns two staffys one 13 year male called Buster and his 10 year old sister Bella. 



Part Time Veterinary Training Nurse

Meg joined our team in April 2016 as a volunteer school student looking to gain work experience within the animal industry .  Meg was made our Kennel Hand and Vet Nurse Assistant in May 2016.  Meg is currently working towards finishing high school, and once graduated would like to go on and study Veterinary Science.

Meg’s special interests within her job role include hydrobathing and assisting our nurses and vets with patients.

Outside of work, Meg enjoys riding her horse Billy, cooking and spending quality time with her dogs Wally the Labrador x Staffy and Otty the Shih Tzu x Pomeranian.


Part Time Veterinary Training Nurse

Steph joined our team in April 2019 as a volunteer and is now training towards becoming a qualified veterinary nurse and working part time.

She started out her career in a different field altogether, being a university fashion graduate and working in that industry for over 4 years. Wanting a more fulfilling and hands on role, she took the leap over to the animal industry and has loved every moment of it.

Steph’s special interests within nursing include surgical care and making every animal feel loved and looked after.

Outside of work, Steph enjoys all things sport, has an interest in astronomy and loves binge watching Netflix. She owns a Tiboodle dog (Tess), a Mandalay cat (Myra) and a fighter fish (Mudcake) and the household has another two cats as well!


Kennel Hand

Lachlan began work at Kedron Veterinary Clinic in April 2018. He wants to pursue a career in animals after finishing school, including jobs such as Vet, Zoology or marine biology.

At school, he is studying general maths, science, English and literature, business ed, art, history and HPE.

He has had many pets throughout his life including two budgies, two guinea pigs and three dogs. Lachlan currently has a Cavoodle named Angus and an Australian Labradoodle called Indi at home.


Kennel Hand

Angelica Joined Kedron Vet in Jan 2019, and she is currently studying at Mary Mackillop College.

Angelica likes to wash dogs and help assist with the animals.

In the future, she would like to work with animals or people.
